Assignment 13: Research and Inspiration

WIKIPEDIA SAYS: Exquisite corpse, also known as exquisite cadaver (from the original French term cadavre exquis) or rotating corpse, is a method by which a collection of words or images is collectively assembled. Each collaborator adds to a composition in sequence, either by following a rule or by being allowed to see the end of what the previous person contributed.

Started in 1925 by French Surrealists.
Surrealism is an art movement in which the artists uses unreal aspects to the piece.

Modern, complex, darker colored

Surrealism

1. I like how the corpse seems completely random, but the body still works well.

2. This corpse is very random and detailed on certain parts, and I like the complexity of the piece.

The Creative Process

A series of steps repeated every time you design something.

Why do we need this process?
1. Improves consistency.
2. Ability to plan and time work.
3. Raise quality of your work.
4. Communicate more effectively and in a more professional manor.

Steps:
1. Research
2. Brainstorm/inspiration/ What kind of message is being communicated? How can this be done?  Who is the audience? What are you trying to tell them? What colors and styles will work for them?
3. Sketch out your thoughts and work out your ideas.
4. Execute; implement the ideas. Combine type and imagery into a composition.
5. Critique and revise.
